Personal Goals
The personal goals refer to those individual qualities and dispositions we believe children will find essential in the 21st century. They help to develop those qualities that will enable children to be at ease with the continually changing context of their lives. There are personal goals for enquiry, resilience, principles, communication, thoughtfulness, cooperation, respect and adaptability.
At Burnt Oak Junior School, we have a Personal Goal of the week. There is a themed assembly promoting this value and we celebrate children that have demonstrated this value in our Friday Achievement Assembly.
Adaptability – We are able to cope in a variety of situations and approach a task with confidence.
Collaboration – We take responsibility for our own contribution to groups to achieve goals.
Communication -We can share our thoughts and feelings to others through our speech and our actions.
Empathy-We can share our thoughts and feelings to others through our speech and our actions.
Ethical-We do the right thing even when no one is watching.
Resilience – We keep on trying even when we find something difficult.
Respect – We show respect for the needs of other people, living things and the environment.
Thinker – We reflect on where and how we have been successful.
